Hi there! My name is **Jenna Winocur, and I'm deeply passionate about building innovative companies to make quality education accessible to all.
Currently, I'm pursuing a Master's at Harvard Univeristy in Educational Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship (ELOE) with a concentration in Global, International, and Comparative Education. I also hold a bachelors degree in Social Innovation from Cornell University, where I founded Social Enterprise at Cornell.
I work as an Entrepreneur in Residence for MIT’s IDEAS Social Innovation Challenge, leading workshops and mentoring MIT students to guide and support their entrepreneurship journeys; ensuring their projects achieve the greatest social or environmental impact.
I supported early-stage female founders at Graham & Walker, a Venture Fund in Seattle, primarily by running the Catalyst Program. The Catalyst sought to close the funding gap by equipping female founders with the skills to raise as if they were second time founders. I also explored growth-stage edtech investments at Lumos Capital. Prior to working in Venture, I co-founded Life Changing School to teach social entrepreneurship to high school students from around the world.
My mission is to increase access to quality education in Africa and beyond. I began working toward this mission when I was in the 4th grade, and from the 9th grade on, I’ve been pursuing social entrepreneurship to explore sustainable and impactful strategies to achieve this mission.
Founding Indaba Care and building on the incredible work of the Indaba Institute, I have found the social enterprise strategy I believe will make the greatest impact on improving access to quality education for all, starting in South Africa. Our mission is to train and provide ongoing support for marginalized women in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) industry to meet urgent workforce needs and improve the quality of ECD for all children.
Our team meeting Roger Federer at his Convening for ECD in South Africa.
I thrive on building communities, and I’m honored to serve as a mentor, judge, and speaker at various social innovation events. For fun, I love to swing dance and have competed at national conferences. I love learning new styles of partner dance everywhere I live, most recently learning Forró in Brazil!
I’m happy to talk about all things educational technology, social entrepreneurship, or innovative ways to make a positive impact in education. Please schedule time with me above!
